Mexico Days 11 & 12… the end *sniff sniff

this is why I blogged “in the midst” – now it’s too hard to remember everything!
so what I do remember…

Thursday – our final full day…
We hung around the quarantine house for the morning, but Merlyn and I were determined to get out so we spent the afternoon strolling through downtown and got Mexican pedicures 🙂 This was one of the best times of the whole trip – we had so much fun just having a relaxed afternoon seeing the sights one final time 🙂
and I pegged Merlyn as a kindred spirit the moment I met her so it was nice just to spend that time together.

late that night after packing Merlyn “threaded” my eyebrows! cool huh? but ouch.
Me & Haylie stayed up til after 3 – so tired!! I’ll miss seeing her face – she’s staying most of the rest of the summer.

We got up early to head to the border – and said our goodbyes – 😦 😦 😦
The suburban ride was just me Nate Dog and Merlyn, some sleeping and some sharing 🙂

I’m whooped right now so it’s hard to come up with closing thoughts, but man this was definitely an amazing and unforgettable experience… I am so blessed and humbled to have been a part of these two weeks with such great people – and of course I’m going home with a greater sense of appreciation for my own life – my own “things” – and a deep love for the people of Jerez…

LYRICS:
me and all my friends
we’re all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there’s no way we ever could
now we see everything that’s going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don’t have the means
to rise above and beat it

so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

LOW – leaving

HIGH – Jacey’s smile 🙂
